Losurdo Brothers, Tony's Bakery, will be closing permanently on Sunday, Dec. 8, the deli shared on Instagram.
"It has been an incredible 50 years serving the people of Hoboken and beyond," the deli wrote.
"To our loyal customers and supporters - Thank you. Your belief and trust in us have been the driving force behind our every step. We are so very proud to have been a part of your family gatherings holidays, special events and daily lives. While this chapter ends, we are grateful for the friendships and experiences we have gained throughout the years."
According to NJ Advance Media, the deli was opened by Nicola and Danny Losurdo after immigrating to the United States from Italy in 1975.
The deli's freshly baked bread, pastries, and sandwiches have helped Losurdo Bros deli gain popularity over the last 50 years.
Patrons expressed their sadness on social media.
"My heart is broken! A true institution," one user said. "Hoboken will not be the same without you. Thank you for serving our community."
"Oh no!!!," another commenter said. "For three generations we enjoyed your food. This is heartbreaking to hear but wish you all the best."
"OMG, this is so sad," another commenter said. "Seriously, so upset over this! The best rainbow cookies I’ve ever had!!! You guys will be missed!
